Tea On Campus
Emory is offering a class called “Tea Time 101: Understanding and using tea“.
Heres’ the course description:
“The world of tea is not limited to the grocery store tea-bag. Spend a few hours sipping exotic teas from China, Japan, and India while learning more about this healthful beverage. Topics include: Tea and Your Health – Get the Facts; Cooking With Tea – Simple ways to use tea in everyday food preparation; Tea Basics – What tea is and isn’t; and more. An enjoyable and informational seminar led by the Japanese-American publisher of a national tea magazine, and former President of the Southern Association of Tea Businesses. No discounts on tuition.”
The University of Southern Maine also has a tea tasting seminar.
My favorite, however, is this political science professor from Oglethorpe University. Combining comparative politics with tea. Absolutely brilliant! I wish I was in college again.
It’s great to see colleges getting into the act and promoting tea education. After all, if we can have wine tasting classes in college, why not tea?
