January Is National Hot Tea Month

02Jan07

Happy New Year!

Did you know that January is National Hot Tea Month? Joe Simrany, President of the Tea Council of the USA offers up this sage advice:

This January is the perfect time to consider tea as part of a healthy diet. As a new year and new millennium begin, people are making resolutions to eat and live healthier, and there’s no better time to celebrate tea’s healthy attributes than National Hot Tea Month.

Since we’re all celebrating “hot tea” this January, it would be remiss of me not to mention some upcoming (and equally deserving, no doubt) celebratory events:

  • January: National Prune Breakfast Month (link)
  • February: National Potato Lover’s Month (link)
  • February 11: Don’t Cry Over Spilled Milk Day (link)

There’s a whole lot more of these, including such gems as “National Butterscotch Pudding Day“, “Sneak some zucchini on your neighbor’s porch night” (seriously!), “National Pigs in a Blanket Day” and “Lima Bean Respect Day“.

Oh, and don’t forget, “National Iced Tea Month” is in June, so mark your calendars!
